Jerry HermanCFA is co-chairman of the Valor Capital Management investment committee, as well as for Prosperity Capital Advisors, an SEC-registered investment adviser (RIA). In this capacity, Jerry reviews, develops and implements best practices in the investment process; and, ultimately, helps ensure a quality investment decision process that instills confidence in advisors and allows them to focus on their relationship management and client goals.

Jerry is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and President of Wisdom Capital, a consulting firm serving financial advisors, investment firms, and small businesses. Jerry has spent more than 30 years in the investment business, most recently as a Managing Director at Stifel Nicolaus, Inc., one of the largest research firms on Wall Street.

Jerry has received awards from The Wall Street Journal for stock picking and the Star-Mine/Financial Times for earnings estimate accuracy. He has also been quoted or referenced in national media such as The Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily, Crain’s, CNBC, and Bloomberg, as well as in regional and local media. Jerry has been a guest speaker or Chairman at industry conferences, and has authored numerous reports on companies and industry sectors. For many years, he has been an equity analyst in the education sector, specifically higher education, as well as an expert in training, and online learning.

As an equity analyst, he has reviewed hundreds of businesses and business models, as well as conducted extensive due diligence. He has consulted with senior executives, entrepreneurs, operating managers, board members, private equity investors, investor relations representatives at some of the largest, institutional investors in the world. He has been involved in thousands of company investor conferences, meetings or calls; and personally conducted hundreds of personal interviews and strategic assessments with senior executives of public and privately held companies.

Jerry has worked with a variety of industries including education, business services, staffing, professional services, transportation, natural resources, chemicals/specialty chemicals, building materials, consumer durables, and manufacturing and process industries. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in finance from Cleveland State University and a degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University.

The Chartered Financial Analysis (CFA,®) Program bridges current practice, investment theory, and ethical and professional standards to provide investment analysis and portfolio management skills. Candidates are required to pass three levels of exams that cover areas such as accounting, economics, ethics, money management, and security analysis.

A master of business administration (MBA) is a graduate degree achieved at a university or college that provides theoretical and practical training to help graduates gain a better understanding of general business management functions.
